Today we had a toy reckoning. See, I try to keep some of the toys packed away so that at any given time, Monroe only has about 2/3 of her toys out. Then, as soon as the "off-duty" toys have been away long enough to seem completely new, we swap them back into rotation. (This description makes it sound as if we have mountains of toys that won't all fit in our apartment. Actually, it all fits in one toybox. I just think things are more fun when you don't see them all the time!)
Eben actually did the reckoning tonight, and going through the pile of baby toys made him really sad and nostalgic, because he knew that in a few months she might not be interested in some of the same things anymore.
After a long weekend celebrating Monroe, we both hated to go back to work and regular life.
Such is maturiting.
