Having already enjoyed our Turkey Day traditions last weekend when Adam was in town visiting, we took advantage of the time off this weekend to make a getaway to the mountains. Palm Springs, here we come!
We Who Travel With Baby came out a day early (so as to minimize the number of hours Monroe has to be in the car within a 24-hour period. Grandma Nikki joined us, and we'll meet up with Mike and Naomi in the morning.
We spent the evening taking in the amazing views--the city is a well-preserved mid-century playground nestled in a bowl of mountains. We walked around the pretty downtown area after arriving around 3 or so.
We played in a park where they were setting up for a local art festival. We got grass stains AND a sneak peak at a cool photography exhibit.
We ended up finding a tapas bar open on Thanksgiving where we got some good grub. It was oddly kid friendly--our entire booth was a giant swing!! And Monroe loved the music.
Tomorrow we hike!
What fun! Monroe is especially beautiful in these photos, and you can tell that you all had a great time together.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like great fun. I vote for the warm, NOT the cold!
