Hello there.
You might have noticed that the blog posts have been a bit thin of late. The main reason for this was our semi-spontaneous (meaning that we planned it just 3-4 weeks in advance, which I consider spontaneity in any case in which we cross state lines) trip to Porland, OR.
We'd been wanting to go to Portland to visit our family (Adam and Kathy) since the layoffs. And when Eben got his new job we knew we were in for a season of having very little time off while he worked to accrue some paid-time-off credit. We've learned that it is good to have a pre-planned trip for which you have already purchased airline tickets arranged when you accept a new job, because then you can usually work out a little unpaid time off for your pre-existing commitment. So when it looked like Eben was getting a job, we hastily planned a trip to Portland for the only time we could--the spring break at the elementary school where I am collecting my dissertation data.
I am back at work today after a jam-packed pre-vacation week, a long and lovely week of vacation, and an extremely hectic homecoming. The pile of things to do and suitcases to unpack is really mounting, but I am hoping to eventually find time to post a little about all the fun Monroe had with her Uncle Adam.
