One of my favorite memories of Monroe took place about 6 months ago, when she was just one and a half. We were in the diner Swingers where we eat breakfast once a week and she was busy trying to hoist herself onto a padded bench seat. There was nothing for her to grip, so getting on the seat was really a race: How quickly she could lift her back end with her (astonishing) core strength versus how quickly her fingers slid across the padded vinyl cushion, releasing her hold. It was a loosing game, but she just kept trying and trying and trying. Every time she slid off, she'd say "almost!"
If we could all have that attitude, there would be very little left undone in this world.
She is very definitely already an overachiever!
