As Eben was tucking Monroe into bed this evening, she looked up at him very solemnly and said, "Dada, after I go to sleep, don't go to the store, because then I will be all alone." Eben told her, "Oh, don't worry--we would never leave you here alone at night! Either I stay home, or mama stays home, or usually we both stay home." Monroe looked back at him and said "You two are good people."
We're still laughing.
I read this to 14 people, today; they are still laughing, too.
ReplyDeleteIt's cute but really not so laughable when you think of all the parents who DO go out leaving their children alone. She's probably heard about some of that.
