Pumpkin Patch

Today was our 2010 visit to the most well-appointed pumpkin patch I've ever seen--nestled in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains and steps from an ocean view, the Temescul Canyon Pumpkin Patch is one of my favorite things about fall in LA. We invited a few pals to join as we just hung around in the pumpkins for a while!!

We played leapfrog on some giant stumps:
And made use of the rope swing:

There was a whole display related to a Scarecrow competition:

A pirate scarecrow

A werewolf chef scarecrow:

An inverse scarecrow:
Apparently Monroe has been learning fall songs at her preschool--she delighted us with a little rendition of "Goin' to the pumpkin farm" which you can hear if you follow the included link (Blogger is acting funny and wouldn't let me simply post it here!)
