First of all, Monroe awoke after spending the night in the living room with her MaMai, who sweetly volunteered to take the 4:00 am feeding off our hands! She had some tummy-to-tummy snuggles with MaMai and did a little "butt blasting" which greatly relieved her digestion. She was all smiles and socializing as she enjoyed looking outside, watching the spinning fish on her mobile, getting her diaper changed, eating, etc. She seemed to enjoy every minute of the day. When it was time for MaMai to head back to Texas, Monroe fell soundly asleep just in time to join us for the car ride (she's not a fan of trips in the car unless she is already asleep when we take off.)
After a sweet and snoozy ride to LAX, me and Eben decided to try our luck at actually going out to a restraunt, somehthing we've yet to attempt with our little one in tow. We picked a very casual Mexican place with a cheery outdoor patio with sturdy outdoor benches where we had the porch to ourselves. Her happiness held! She stayed asleep until around the time our food came, when she woke up ready to nurse. After she ate, her daddy (who had finished his meal) supervised her in a little playtime on the padded seat of our booth while I ate. After a diaper change, Monroe settled in for another perfectly-timed nap that helped her weather the final car trip home! The sweetness continued into the night, and the day went down in history as her happiest, most satisfied, most playful day so far!!
The ultimate version of Monroe's hobby "look outside"-- in this case, she was looking outside while actually being outside!
It really makes my day to see three of the people I love most having such a wonderful time! Your mom had such a great time there. We love you all very much.
