It is so hot in Los Angeles that it is making the national news. We're hitting 113 in the valley today! Of course, 12 blocks from the beach at our house, the situation is much less dire. I think we'll cook up to 85-87 degrees today. Yes, I know that sounds balmy and pleasant to all my Texas peeps, and I grant you, it is not bad at all considering the big picture. But what you've got to consider is that I live in a balmy beach community where the buildings are built to invite sea breezes rather than to protect one from the elements. So if it is 87 outside, it is around 84 INSIDE. No one in Santa Monica has air conditioning... so I suppose it is time to dig out the fans!
