For today's advent activity, we joined Olivia and her mom for Downtown Santa Monica's big tree lighting performance. First, we met for a quick bite downtown near the tree. The photographic evidence presented below does not paint a good picture of the girls' table manners, but rest assured the "flying on chairs" was an isolated incident in an otherwise civilized meal.
Monroe's favorite part of the tree lighting program was when the MC came into the crowd and passed out glowsticks to the kids.
She was also completely thrilled by the faux snow that fell at intervals throughout the musical performances. It was kind of surreal to look up and see "snow" against a backdrop of palm trees.
I'm grateful to Ally and Olivia for proposing this fun outing.
